So, it finally arrived from YesAsia.
This is Nendoroid Gumako Cheerful Version from Good Smile Company. This nendoroid is more special than I thought. First, it marks as the 200th nendoroid that Good Smile Company created. Second, it celebrates the ten year anniversary for the company. Third, this is the first figure for Gumako who started out as a April Fool’s joke by Good Smile, & would later become a mascot to them. And finally, it is part of the Cheerful Japan project that Good Smile launched back in March.
For those of you that don’t know what Cheerful Japan is, it’s basically a charity program made by Good Smile to help the victims from the March 2011 tsunami in Japan. There are a lot of figures & plushes that Good Smile has/is/will release. For each item sold, Good Smile takes a portion of that sale for charity. Most of the time, it’s 1,000 yen.
Although the items are to be sold only on Good Smile’s online store, it is possible to get some of these items from outside sources like I did. Although they are a bit overpriced due to the third parties making their own profits, some of the money does go to charity since the third parties still need to buy them. Not a good idea, but money still goes to the Cheerful Japan project.
Hopefully, my last figure will arrive this week. I think it will be my last for a long time.
